It is a comforting experience that the mention of Erbsensuppe could generate such a lively debate on such a wide range of topics. Somehow reconciles me with some other aspects of my pea soup infested childhood.

For some reason never really cared for split pea soup. Used to joke that it was against my religion to eat (as well as all the other foods I didn’t like, topping the list would be mushrooms, after biology class, just cant eat them anymore)
